Anheuser-Busch said Tuesday that its organic brand Michelob Ultra Pure Gold has launched an initiative that will help American barley farmers switch their conventional fields to organic ones. Under the “Contract for Change” program, Michelob Ultra will sign contracts to purchase the barley that’s grown during the first year of organic production at a premium. Farmers undergoing the three-year transition to organic face uncertain markets. Anheuser-Busch InBev SA stock is up 39.7% for the year to date while the S&P 500 index is up 18.3% for the period.
